He eventually learned to play other types of poker games, such as Hold'em and Omaha. The first remarkable victory of Martin de Knijff was when he placed thirteenth at the main event of the World Series of Poker that was held at the Binion's Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2002. Such victory earned him a total of US$60,000.

In 2004, Martin de Knijff once again triumphed in the World Series of Poker that was also held at the Binion's Horseshoe Casino. The game that this professional poker player participated in was the US$5,000 No Limit Hold'em event, wherein he had a second place finish.

This professional poker player also played triumphantly in a couple of games conducted by the World Poker Tour. In its first championship series, this professional poker player ended in fifteenth place and took home an amount of US$26,664. But it was during the following year that this professional poker player really made a notable success in the World Poker Tour.
